To better understand restaurant website design and navigation, I conducted additional research on two restaurant websites: Prezzo and Zizi. This research was crucial for my own design stage.
I created user flows to thoroughly comprehend the websites’ navigational structure and the user experience on professional websites. This step greatly informed my subsequent site map and wireframes creation, ensuring I had a clear understanding of essential elements.
For Prezzo, I documented the process of booking a table and browsing the menu. This experience was smooth and required minimal improvements. One potential area for enhancement is the large map display when selecting a restaurant, which might be challenging for users less comfortable with maps.
Similarly, my evaluation of Zizi revealed a smooth user experience with few faults. I aim to replicate this level of clarity and coherency in my own website design.
Overall, this research has been highly informative and valuable. It will significantly aid the design phase and help me grasp the conventions of restaurant websites effectively.
