The user testing phase for my app design played a pivotal role in the overall design process by providing valuable insights into how individuals from diverse backgrounds respond to the same app. Deliberately selecting a mix of three university students and two adults over 50 allowed me to discern potential variations in user experiences.
Throughout these user tests, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Users found the app easy to navigate and appreciated both its design and underlying concept. Many expressed genuine interest in incorporating the app into their daily lives, anticipating significant positive impacts on their shopping and cooking experiences.
In a particularly insightful final user test with my dad, a suggestion emerged. To enhance users’ understanding of time saved, he proposed incorporating, during the app’s onboarding process, the option to select the preferred grocery store, its distance, and the mode of transport used. This additional input would enable the app to more accurately calculate the time and cost savings associated with each product at the chosen store.
In conclusion, the user testing experience proved positive, providing valuable insights into areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. These observations will serve as a solid foundation for refining and enhancing the app’s overall user experience.
