This week triggered some initial anxiety as it marked the beginning of a two-week period with studio sessions held in a different building. Uncertain about the location, I fretted a bit beforehand. However, once I arrived, everything turned out smoothly—albeit quite chilly!
Productivity soared during this week, with my app reaching an almost finished stage. I aimed to conduct user tests to gather insights for further improvements, planning to gather perspectives from a diverse group. Max, Emily, James, and my parents were chosen for the tests, providing valuable input from both UX designers and individuals unfamiliar with app design, spanning different generations. Their feedback proved immensely useful for refining design and enhancing usability.
Dave’s feedback prompted a decision to change my app’s name from BeeWise&Utilise due to its excessive length. After some brainstorming, I settled on the name HiveSnap. Inspired by bees’ ingenious use of hives and the idea of storing things, I linked it to a cupboard. Integrating the app’s unique selling proposition (USP), the act of taking a photo, led to the final choice of HiveSnap.
Realising my dissatisfaction with the music in my video, despite being near completion, I made the bold decision to start afresh. A new song, font, and information order breathed new life into the video, instantly making me appreciate the change.
A lecture from Red Dot Studio added an intriguing layer to the week. Their presentation style and showcased work resonated with me, proving to be both interesting and inspiring. Overall, this week fostered significant progress in all facets of the projects, instilling confidence as the deadline draws near.
