This week was the final week before finishing week…stress.
I chose to kick off the week by dedicating my focus to the video, aiming to refine its timings, enhance photo quality, and infuse it with a lighthearted atmosphere. Simultaneously, I initiated the creation of my personal planning folder and portfolio.
Completing the video relatively early on became a gratifying experience, as I found joy in the creative process. It didn’t feel like work, allowing me to invest my time and see it come together seamlessly. Perfecting the timings and incorporating entertaining gifs contributed to the video’s playful vibe. Seeking external input, I had others watch the video to pinpoint any mistakes or timing issues, ensuring I could make necessary adjustments.
Regarding the personal planning folder, I crafted my CV and cover letter and delved into agency research. Certain agencies had piqued my interest for internships, such as FoolProof and BulletProof. These have always been a source of inspiration for me, and the prospect of working with them is genuinely enlightening. I’ve been strategic in delaying applications until my portfolio is complete to maximise my chances.
The initial stages of portfolio creation posed a challenge as I grappled with deciding on an aesthetic. Wanting to avoid potential clashes with my work’s colour palettes, I opted for a black and white theme. This choice allows for personalised pages for each project, integrating colours from the respective apps seamlessly.
This week’s lecture featured insights from Stink Studios. Despite their intriguing and inspiring work, my attention was divided due to the looming deadline. Thoughts raced through my mind about necessary adjustments to my app, potential additions to my video, and other tasks. I plan to revisit the lecture on the VLE post-deadline to fully appreciate their work.
In summary, the week proved highly productive, exceeding my expectations. This progress significantly lightened the load for the finishing week, enabling a focused effort on polishing every aspect rather than rushing through tasks.
