About page – my iterations

Initially, my primary role in the group was to design the “About Us” page since I had collaborated with Ellana on the research for it, which put me in a strong position to take on the design work.

The design process involved several iterations, as we struggled to agree on the direction and overall vibe of the redesign. We started by creating individual wireframes, then came together to merge our ideas, aiming to create a cohesive and engaging page.

At first, we focused on redesigning the existing site to improve its flow and add a more playful element while still conveying the necessary information. However, as we received feedback, it became clear that our initial approach wasn’t quite hitting the mark. This caused some discouragement within the group.

In response, I decided to take a new approach, completely rethinking the theme and style of the design. When I presented this new direction to the group, they were enthusiastic, and we agreed to adopt it across all three of our assigned pages.

Below are screenshots of my iterations for the “About Us” page, reflecting the changes and new design direction. These include only the designs I worked on, not the initial wireframes created by my group members.

Above are my slight re-designs that I did when i wasn’t necessarily happy with our designs, as I was in charge of the about us page.

Above are my second re-designs for this process, going in a completely different direction.

Above are the designs of the sustainability page. In my initial designs I was trying to work out a way to include the sustainability values on the about us page, but was worried it was making the page too overwhelming so designed it on a separate page and easily accessible to go to and from the about us page through a simple button.
