During the first week back I got to know more about what my course entails, my lecturers and getting to know my new classmates. We had an introductory session into the course, in which we were briefed on our first 3 projects. I found this slightly overwhelming initially and my mind was whizzing about what my next steps should be. I then took the initiative to read the briefs properly, familiarise myself with the tasks and take notes which helped generate some initial thoughts and highlight any key information. In my notes I mapped out how I could set up my Miro frames, ensuring they were all clearly labelled to avoid any confusion and any initial ideas for Project 2 and 3. This as a whole made the projects a little less daunting.
I ensured to ask for guidance on anything I was unsure about which helped me gain confidence throughout the first week. I also took it upon myself to come up with any ideas I could base Project 3 Experience Website on.
As a class we were taught the basics of WordPress which I felt apprehensive navigating in as I had never used it before. Throughout this week I am having an ongoing issue with getting to grips with WordPress, however I am sure that over the course I will get the hang of it and to not lose hope just yet. We also had a workshop in which I worked with other students, also breaking the ice through our discussions. Make it Manifesto on the Wednesday allowed everyone on the course to collaborate and come up with ideas to improve our working space in the studio. I really enjoyed this as collectively we could create a positive environment for us all to work in. It showed that User Experience is in EVERYTHING when we really look into it!
As a whole I really enjoyed my first week back, and I am looking forward to progressing my skills and constantly learning.
