This week we set ourselves individual deadlines within the group work to finish the work for the presentation. With this I ensured that all of my fidelity wireframes were connected and interacted with the other pages. Being busy with interview prep (for the interview this Tuesday morning) meant I had a lot of things to juggle, however was determined to complete my tasks, which meant I spent extra time to ensure my designs were working properly. On Tuesday after I was finally done with my interviews, I was able to turn my focus towards the group work again. I turned all my high fidelity desktop prototypes to mobile for all the individual live events pages as well as the page that contains all the live events on one page. I found this to be quite easy, as the content was the same I just needed to adjust the layout and structure of content to ensure it flowed well on the mobile. I am pleased with how it turned out, ensuring that my designs had enough padding for the phone, still ensuring users wouldn’t be scrolling for too long.

I also added a dark red block behind the text to break up some of the white background on the phone prototype which allowed for the text to stand out more, also highlighting words in yellow to make it more fun and engaging for the user, in line with the clients asks.
For the all live events page, I decide that instead of having tiles that would take up extra space unnecessarily on the phone, I opted to have thick lines that separated the events, keeping the design layout clean and simple. I also noticed that some of the event details like the time and location of events on individual events pages didn’t line up properly for desktop, so I made sure I used this as a reminder to do a quality check of all the pages as well as the live events page I designed myself. These images show the difference between desktop all live events layout (left) and mobile all live events layout (right)

I also added my script (I was the colour green on the presentation) to the Figma presentation on Tuesday as I wasn’t there last week when Lizzy and Emily made it as I had to come home for interview prep for the associate service design role. Through adding my script for the slides as well as writing some of Ellana’s script for some of the work she had done I was able to explain the reasonings behind our design choices – fuelled by our research. For creating some of the script for Ellana’s work I didn’t find this too difficult as I mainly focused on the research aspect, which at the time required lots of communication and discussing as well and group analysis of the web pages. Therefore I felt it was quite easy to write her part of the script. For my script I ensured that it included the all the important information, although I had a few less slides, the ones that I was talking for, I had a lot to say which meant I was talking longer for each slide as I didn’t want to miss anything out.
Although being at home, the pros to working on an online file meant I was still able to communicate with my group members about my progress and the presentation. Lizzy and I both agreed on changing the designs and layout for the Figma presentation slides as we wanted it to be more interactive. We experimented with initial designs and came up with a design that incorporated both our separate design styles, in which we applied these different styles to throughout the whole presentation. We also decided to add videos of us scrolling through the high fidelity web designs so that the panel would be able to see how it would work in a real life setting as just using screenshots would make it harder for them to visualise.

I believe the presentation went well. Lizzy, Emily and I met in the morning to go through the slides, practicing how we would present our work and making small last minute changes to the slides to ensure they were all good. Initially being quite nervous for the presentation , I was happy I was presenting with Lizzy and Emily, with Dave and Rob in the room too, as having familiar faces calmed my nerves. To end it off we got good feedback about our designs which was really positive and encouraging to hear.
