Over interchange week I decided to look at some statistics that are related to my problem area. Consumers adapting to a more sustainable lifestyle which made me aware of how many people are willing to make changes but find it difficult to due to many reasons.
I also came to the conclusion that many of the United Nations Sustainability goals, especially the ones I was looking at were very similar and linked together. As a result I struggled slightly to differentiate between the goals I had initially selected, however it only increased my knowledge and broadened by understanding of the problem area.
After doing some initial research into this problem area, I identified what I would want to ask people for my user interviews. I wrote down some post it notes of what would be useful to know and potential questions I could ask in relation to this. As I didn’t want the interview with the users to be too long, I decided to just focus on the some of the main questions I was interested in hearing their opinions about.
I found it difficult to find apps that I could use for my competition research. This resulted in me planning different options and paths I could take, in order to address and find my information based on my problem area – sustainable places of accommodation.
