Industry Notes and UX Notes

Industry notes:

Furthermore- in this column I have completed industry research and UX notes to get a deeper understanding of what the industry in which we were designing for requires when it comes to a users interface. To start this research, I began by investigating various competitor designs and UX trends when it comes to designing a website.

From this I gathered current trends including, pixel art, motion, bold experimental design, characters and interactive background designs, etc. From this list we loved the idea of the user interacting with the page as we believe it demonstrates a modern outlook as a brand due to using a design strategy which is trending but also captures the audiences attention.

UX notes on specific pages:

In addition to this I then completed some UX notes where I explored the ux rules for content layout and what information should be presented on specific pages.

Persuasion & Usability workshop:

We then also looked at persuasive tactics used in user experience design which aren’t classed as deceptive patterns. This was to investigate any strategies we could use to influence user flows and shopping experiences.

Subsequently, this section also outlines notes and evaluations made from Hannah’s workshop. From the workshop we outlined issues such as relevant information about the brand not being displayed and a lack of an efficient checkout process- clear what you are buying. The solution for this was to concise information to the most important content like; brand stories, achievements and goals. This keeps it engaging and builds like-ability for the brand and trust, also creating a reasonable separation of tasks.
