After a long 3 week break it was nice to come back and get started on a new project. Graham from Virgin Wines came to give some information about virgin wines as a company, and who they are. He talked through a presentation which was going to be really beneficial and crucial to understanding the brief and what they would hope to gain out of this project from us, in which I took detailed notes so I could refer back to it whenever as I find it easier to refer back to the notes I make rather than the ones on the shared Miro board.
This was my first ux group project which includes the whole process, from research, wire framing, various iterations, final designs and a pitch to the company. I am quite nervous about the pitch, however I know that as a group we will have enough time to prepare for it.
After forming our groups we decided to discuss ways we could split the work. Through planning and our knowledge and understanding from previous projects we talked about what research techniques to include in our shared Miro board, as well as what we needed to have ready for the next time we meet up. Using trello, a new software we were able to set ourselves a deadline of when we needed to complete certain tasks which was really useful.
Throughout the week I made sure to let the group know that we need to split the exact tasks equally to ensure others weren’t doing more than they needed to and we all had a fair chance. We also had a small struggle at the start trying to select a date to meet up, however through communication we all came to the conclusion that it is best to see each other on the Thursday when we know we are all free.
As from the last unit there was a similar range of techniques when it comes to research, I found it much easier to complete the tasks, I made sure that everyone put their names next their boards and takes so that it was easier to tell who was doing what and we didn’t need to keep asking each other what was left to do. I also tried to go into as much detail when I was doing the analysis of the web pages and ensured that I covered everything. Overall this week has gone quite well and chilled as it is just research which is one of my favourite parts of a projects.
