This week, I shifted my focus to converting my wireframe sketches into a partially prototyped low-fidelity wireframe on Figma. The main goal was to figure out the layout of the main four pages accessed from the navigation, and the navigation menu itself.

I roughly laid out the content of each page, referencing the user flow diagram I created last week to know what each page should contain. I also created a drop-down navigation menu using a hamburger menu icon, and prototyped it to be functional using variables.

Although this was somewhat unnecessary at this stage, it helped to make the flow of the website and experience more logical and will definitely be useful and usable into the later high-fidelity stages of the project.

I spent a while experimenting with the different ways I could present the different packages/tiers/experiences that the website will offer, which will be seen on the homepage and booking flow.

Towards the end of the week, I started to expand my focus to looking at how the brand of the website could look – starting with fonts and visual research.

I’m working with ‘ThrillScape’ as a temporary placeholder name – I asked ChatGPT for some name ideas and it produced some interesting and not al that believable results… but ThrillScape stood out as a somewhat realistic name that made some sense.

Next, I want to continue with and hopefully finish the low-fidelity wireframe, and fully move into a mid and then high fidelity prototype. While refining the structure of the site in Figma, I will continue researching visual styles the website could take and start creating some ideas for colour palettes and font styles.
I’m satisfied with my progress this week, however it has felt somewhat slow going at times, having got stuck with ideas in Figma several times and slightly overwhelmed by the introduction of Project 4. Having processed that, I am optimistic about the progress of Project 3 and the progress I intend to make with my wireframes and prototype in Figma.
