Goal-Oriented User Behaviour
For the first part of project 2, I completed two user flows for Hollister and AXS as an example of goal-oriented user behaviour. For Hollister, I annotated the main flow through from the homepage with the goal of purchasing a product, to the checkout. I also included several secondary paths a user might take, represented by grey arrows instead of red.

I repeated this for AXS, with the goal of purchasing specific concert tickets, through from the homepage to checkout.
Design Principles
Using Don Norman’s 7 Design Principles, I analysed and annotated aspects of Hollister’s website to explain where they had been successfully applied.

Site Map & Heuristic Markup
Finally for this week – I created a site map and heuristic markup of the AXS website, covering the main areas of the site’s navigation and primary user flow.

Next Week
Moving forward, I will be focusing on looking at AXS as their site has the most room for improvement compared to Hollister. I will be using AXS for my user testing and then, combined with my research from this week, making design recommendations through redesigning elements of the site.
