My first presentation to investors was something I was determind to try to do well with. As I usually struggle with presentations and am aware this is something I will be needing to do in the future.
To prepare the presentation and myself I began with finding some inspiration to give me so basic ideas of how other promotional videos looks for apps. I found quite a few features throughout the inspiration useful and realised I could put my own spin on an idea to make it relate back to my app.
Above is an idea I had that got removed. I began designing in Figma and did some informal user tests so I could get an idea of what people liked seeing and what wasn’t necessary.
When I first started using After Effects I found it quite challenging as I’ve used it once in first year but haven’t looked back at it since. I didn’t expect to like the software but after getting some experience with it and being able to have my video work as I imagined I’m really glad I gave it a go. I’m incredibly pleased with how the video turned out and believe it’s a successful promotional video for what Green Routes Does.
My presentation is something I was very proud of as I usually struggle with anxiety I managed to complete the presentation and was happy with the outcome and feedback. To help keep on track of what I was going to say I created a script on flashcards which I somewhat stuck to but did go off at some points when I felt parts deserved better explaining. I’m really glad this was part of the brief because I now feel more confident in my ability to show and present my work to peers and designers/ lectures that come in.
