Collaborative Project: Research Development

This week we started with dividing our roles in the group for the research bit, we started with just doing our analysis of the website; looking out for any inconsistency and particular details we want to nourish our information around the following pages: About Us, Checkout, Wine Tasting.

Here below I will illustrate this image that shows our roles in our research.

Heuristic/Opportunities, User Interviews, Design, User Testing are the sectors I worked on

Another important factor about this board is that we skipped the expert interviews, we had two possible participants but the plan fell threw and the deadline was close so we skipped this part notifying the reason in the Miro board, along with it’s original plan where my job was in making the expert’s profile.

Heuristic Markups

We found out different types of problems regarding this website:

  • No efficient hierarchy
  • Too much white text
  • Wine Tasting was unneeded and most of people get confused by the title
  • Checkout seemed really boring and complex
  • Checkout looks unsecure even though the regulations says the opposite

After analysing various points that the website lacks this is what we came up with, me, Maisy, Rishabh, Dom, Hashry and Rob did a fantastic job in finding these difficulties and we planned already on how to begin our design project, which will be explained on the next post.

User Interviews

My second role here is to get enough information from every single transcript we collected thanks to Robert and Dom, this will be gathered by our draft question we premade and asked different people about their opinion.
Me and Maisy started with gathering important notes and subdivide them into our affinity map here shown below.

I started to help other people in the meanwhile to complete the Competitor Reviews and design sketches to facilitate the operation and give everybody an idea of what we are going to make.

After analysing all the interviews our result came up to be like this:

User Testing

On our fourth week , we started to realize that we all needed some user testing for the pages we have been designing. Me, Rob and Maisy did our part and later on we all started to note our notes and bullet points inside the Miro. This was the same method we did with our User Interviews section.

The image below shows the results of our tests.

My Interview “About Us”, “Reviews”, “FAQ”

In this part of the research bit we hadn’t got much time left. So, me and Maisy started working on it, I asked around GU300 and found Michael McCormack, who recently just won a pencil with his project “Operation Ozone”, this can be seen in the link below:

His interview was regarding the “About us” and “Reviews” pages. His skills in Graphics led us to understand more where we had mistaken and these are the outcomes we came up with it

Rob’s Interview “Checkout”

Maisy’s Interview “Events”

Affinity Map made by Me and Maisy

The affinity map was made after consideration of all the user testing we have done and nourished from. The results came up to be as such:
