Creating the Experience Website was a challenging but exciting journey from start to finish. As I explored the cyberpunk subculture, I realized how little I knew about it. It took a few weeks of discussions and idea exchanges to figure out the project’s tone and theme, but despite the chaos, I enjoyed discovering different sub-genres within cyberpunk.
A turning point came when I decided to connect with people in the cyberpunk community. Browsing cyberpunkforums.com, I researched their food habits, gaining insights into their preferences and interacting with the community. This research significantly enriched my project and is documented in my MIRO research (LINK).
I also took on the task of conceptualizing the entire product and its execution. Following Jonny’s advice in a studio session, I created my own brief, helping me organize my thoughts and stay focused. This structured approach guided me through the process and contributed to my overall learning.
Armed with research, answers, and ideas, I entered the creative phase. Brainstorming names, defining offerings, and considering the presentation and booking system within the cyberpunk theme led to the birth of “Electric Appetite.” A Mood Board and a self-generated brief helped set the tone.
Consolidating all the information, I began drafting wireframe sketches and a user flow chart. Uncertainty lingered on visualizing the website experience, but Electric Appetite gradually took shape. The drafting process helped organize and synthesize the user journey alongside the visual representation.
Acknowledging the unstructured nature of my approach, I understand the importance of adopting a more systematic design process. While relying on visualizing ideas, I am committed to learning and incorporating a more disciplined methodology into my future design work. As I embark on this journey, I look forward to growing and developing as a designer. Wish me luck!
