In this talk, not only did Google announce new products (such as the Pixel 7a), but new software with the inclusion of AI was discussed too.
Gmail Help Me Write
Using a prompt, Gmail help me write will use AI to make an automated response in draft format. It can take details from the previous email (which the individual is responding to).
Google Photos Magic Editor
A combination of semantic understanding and generative AI has allowed the creation of Magic Editor. Parts of images that weren’t previously there can be edited in and lighting changes can be made to the rest of the photo, by changing the sky.

Bard Updates
Bard is now capable of more than 20 programming languages, including:
- C++
- Python
- JavaScript
- Google Sheets
Bard can also link the source of where it has found the code, using a neat accordion system and code can now be directly moved into Colab.
Collaborating with Adobe Firefly means thats users will be able to generate completely new images from their imagination using Bard.
RCS
No matter what phone an individual has, they can communicate seamlessly in the group chat – with no limits on sending images, getting delivered notifications and seeing who is typing. RCS already has 800M users and by the end of the year, Google is hoping for over a billion users.
Final notes:
The Google talk was incredibly interesting and it’s quite overwhelming to see how quickly technology is developing, and how available it is becoming in today’s society.
