In the second week of the project, I focused on completing my review and analysis of two competitors, and finishing my heuristic analysis and markup. During Easter, we’ll complete a group heuristic evaluation and I will aim to conduct several user tests.

I finished my competitor review with an analysis of HelloFresh, an indirect competitor in the grocery/meal delivery service subscription market. Their subscription model somewhat resembles Virgin Wines’ WineBank service, so I thought it relevant to look into how they pitch and present the service, especially at checkout. Where possible, I have added screenshots of both sites’ approaches to About, Events and Checkout pages in parallel with the Virgin Wines project brief.

My task in the heuristic analysis was to look at the three pages on the mobile site and start with a mark-up of each, to be developed into a group evaluation later. I did complete an evaluation of the About Us page in a table next to it, before we later decided as a group to conduct a joint evaluation of all pages later. We plan to do this during the Easter break.
During Easter, we are also aiming to complete several user interviews or tests, and also begin thinking of and sketching ideas for our redesigns & recommendations.
