BSc2a Project 1: Virgin Wines Briefing

On Monday of this week, we were introduced to the Virgin Wines project and briefed by Creative Director Graham Tracy. After forming a group, I organised the creation of a team Trello board to keep track of group tasks. By the end of Week 1, it looked as below.

I also created a Project Timeline in Miro to serve as a more general overview of the project’s progress, which could be edited and added to each week where necessary.

One of the first things I did was create a user journey map of the existing About Us, Live Events & Checkout Flow desktop pages. This will be helpful to refer back to at different stages of the project.

With these initial steps completed, our team’s goal for the rest of the week and likely into next week as well would be to complete competitor analyses and heuristic analyses. We each chose to review two competitors, and two of us would do heuristic analyses for mobile and two for desktop.

I chose Majestic Wines and HelloFresh, completing the first of the two this week.

I completed a heuristic markup and evaluation for the About Us page of the Virgin Wines site, but due to personal illness I wasn’t able to make as much progress as intended. I hope to finish this and the competitor review next week. I’m still satisfied with the progres the team has made this week though, and feel we have clear goals and a good time plan in place.
