This week, I made good progress and feel optimistic about the unit hand in deadline. I have now mostly finished all design aspects of the app, and have focused on prototyping which is now fully functional. This enabled me to conduct formal user tests – of which I have done four so far, with a fifth planned for Monday. I’ve used the feedback received in each to improve various aspects of the app.
Below are some examples of iteration following feedback from user tests:

Additionally, I also created/refined three extra detail screens which are accessed from some of the buttons in the main flow (below).

I also started Project 6. I created the below App Store images, but I am considering tweaking the wording of the titles to be more descriptive, perhaps with subtext.

I also began creating storyboards for the app presentation video in Figma. This was really helpful to be able to freely design how I wanted the video to flow, which made the process of using After Effects much easier as I had a clear vision of my goal.

Using this, I was able to create the first 20 seconds of my video in After Effects, synced to a track I found with a free trial of Epidemic Sound. Below is a current view of the timeline. I’m quite proud of what I’ve created so far – it was a learning curve and took some time to get used to, but I feel confident with my progress.

This week I also started preparing my submission folder – I’ve fully finished and organised Project 2 & 4, with 3 just needing some walk-through videos recording before being finished & ready. I also worked on a CV for Project 8.
Next week, I aim to fully finish & prepare Project 5 for submission, and have the Project 6 App Store images done and video done. I will finish my essay by responding to feedback I’ve received, hopefully complete most of my presentation too. Ideally, I would also like to start my portfolio site – but I am confident I can create that in the final week if not.
