In the final week of term, I conducted my Expert Interview with Jeremy Wiggin and focused on completing the majority of Project 4, including some additional Affinity Mapping & Summaries, an Opportunity Solution Tree, Provisional Personas, and Empathy Maps.

Above is an overview of the interview transcript – with Mr Wiggin’s consent I made an audio recording of the interview, which I transcribed using Descript. I based my interview questions around the 3 questions I had originally sent Mr Wiggin via email, and built on them with follow-up questions, extending the interview to roughly 20 minutes. The full transcript can be seen on my Miro board here.

I used ChatGPT to summarise the main points brought up during the interview, by asking for a summary of the transcript. The interview was really interesting and insightful – it provides some really helpful context to keep in mind when designing my app.

Creating Provisional Personas was really useful to categorise some of the potential users of my app that I had in my mind – each with their own different focusses and priorities according to their lifestyle and personality.
It was also interesting to learn about and look into the Jungian Archetypes. I assigned one to each Provisional Persona that best matched each character description and their likely behaviours & feelings.

After Provisional Personas, I created Empathy Maps for each Archetype. Although it took some time to carefully consider each area for each Persona, I’m confident they will be beneficial in designing the app in Project 5.

Finally – I revisited my User Interviews and created an Opportunity Solution Tree to help inform my Value Proposition Canvas and provide some initial ideas of which features my app could focus on.
Over the Christmas break and at the beginning of the new term, I intend to wrap up Project 4 with Personas and the Value Proposition Canvas – and the slide deck summarising all my Project 4 research.
