For the essay I decided to write about social media as I have worked with this in the past and am interested in why it is as successful as it is.

I did research into user centred design to first understand what it actually meant so that I could write in detail about how it effects social media.

UCD is an iterative design process in which designers focus on the users and their needs in each phase of the design process

The three social media platforms that I chose to focus on was TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat. I chose these because I use these mostly on a daily basis and am fascinated about why they are so successful.
