<\/strong>– At a fundamental level the subscription model was misunderstood
– The user thought subscription meant he had to be subscribed to buy a box
– User didn’t realise they could change dates
– The user was confused by the language used on the edit veg card that came up during the subscription flow

A second wiser sage appears I asked a friend I made at Sync the City called Andy Almond who runs langham recruitment if he knew anyone in food waste that could interview on quick notice. He reached out to his extensive network on Linkedin and managed to get a friend of his to ask Martin Blackwell for help. If anyone is unaware such as I was, Martin Blackwell is head of development for Norwich Business Industry department. We had a nice 30-minute chat at a cafe near his workplace where Martin treated me to coffee and a very helpful interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Martin discussed previous projects he has worked on along with future projects. Then his insights into my questions were: 3. If you didn’t notice throughout the design steps there were accessibility considerations however as time became more of an issue these were dropped. This is not a good excuse to drop these features however for an MVP I decided to leave it. <\/strong>For submission guidelines, I thought I needed an audio of an expert interview and I only had an email from the expert I had interviewed so I tried to set up another just so I could practice my actual interviewing skills along with having an audio file for submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– Businesses change to the demands of the consumer, if I can change consumer perception and give them something better, businesses would follow suit to change to demands
– Prevention is a good counter to food waste however better planning from individuals would stop it before it gets to prevention
– He worked on\u2002a project that took food waste and converted it to energy in what he described as an anaerobic digestion waste plant.
The Future
<\/strong>For the future development of my app, I would:
1. Rehaul the entire subscription flow into something more usable. This would be done with more user testing and A\/b Testing
2. Change the veg groups used when selecting veg to something more understandable, the current veg groups are based on, well, veg groups. But even after working as a produce colleague for 5 years I don’t know what a Tuber veg is so to improve on this I would undertake tree jack testing and card sorting tests to better. So here we are. I’m standing in front of two sages. One with frustration and the other with Opportunities. They present me with the tools I need to climb down the mountain with the best product however I look at my watch and realise\u2002I’m out of time. If only I had climbed the mountain faster If only I hadn’t wasted time frolicking in the meadows of yonder and basking in the sun. However, if I hadn’t taken the road I did to get to this point I don’t think I would have ever met these two wise sages. There have been a lot of could’ve, would’ve, and should’ve in this story but at the end of this long day I’m satisfied with what I have found, and with what I have produced.
