In-depth Heuristic Markup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Together, Mad’s and I felt that the previous Heuristic Markup needed developing, and overall this wasn’t a focus of the group. So we took on the role of doing a mark-up on the site, as we felt that this would be beneficial to the development of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between us, we allocated 5 heuristics to each other. We colour coded each heuristic and then wrote stickies on the sitemap. After we looked through each others notes and developed our ideas further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After, we organised the stickies into groups of heuristics, and the page that the notes were made on. This allowed us to see where the most positive and negative markups were located. However, we then decided that using a graph would be the best way to interpret the data seen on the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I then created an equation to find the median of the amount of red post-its per heuristic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got these results using the calculation. I then used this information to create a bar chart to represent the data, which Mads then colour coded to match the heuristic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is clear to see from the bar chart that the heuristic that is the least well executed is the ‘aesthetic and minimalist design’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I then created a new equation to calculate the average number of red post-its, per heuristic and page. Using the data created from this calculation would make a much more in-depth line chart, which shows the peaks and troughs of where the most and least red sticky-notes were placed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using the data I made, Mads wrote conclusions so we could summarise what we had found and would help us in using the data to make future developments in our project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
