Virgin Wines Kickoff

The first day back at uni consisted of getting into teams in order to carry out our next brief, of which we had been told about the day prior. During the session we discussed, as a class, what we believe would be beneficial steps to undertake during the project and what would leave us with the best research and overall design.

As a team (Mads, James, Alex, Sam and I) we discussed the starting point for our project and found that a good focus would be to look into competitors, both direct and indirect. In order to help the team and to provide a place for future reference I highlighted important statistics which were provided on the ‘Virgin Wine’ slides. I also made notes on what is wanted in the final product and ways that we can achieve this.

In order to help organise the team, I also made a colour coded system as this would help us in figuring out who is working on what. Also (as seen on the image below) I put a copy of the brief in the Miro board which was annotated to help us figure out the path that we should take.

As a team we started to develop heuristic markups of the mobile and desktop flow for Virgin Wines – however this still needs developing.

Possibly the most prominent part of our research today was our competitor reviews. Each team member has been tasked to complete 3 competitor reviews, with sitemaps for the web and mobile version for each. I have selected Netflix, Sociovino and LITTLEWINE – however for one of these I want to replace it with a service that has a better link to the Virgin company itself, e.g. an insurance company or ISA.
