This week, our focus was on creating high-fidelity designs for all our pages. Unfortunately, one of our group members tested positive for covid, which made group work a bit challenging. To help her out, we took on some of her workload while she recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the high-fidelity design phase, I added an engaging information area to the events landing page. This section provides event details and encourages users to click to learn more. To make it more visually appealing, I created illustrations of skylines from different event locations using their specific colour palettes. This was an improvement over the current site’s generic building images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, we used a pink colour palette for the backgrounds and other design elements, based on the new brand guidelines. However, after some discussions, we realised this pink might not align well with the classic Virgin red. So, we decided to switch to a darker colour palette with Malbec and Grenache reds as the primary colours, using the pink as an accent. Although I was originally drawn to pink because it’s my favourite colour, the darker reds give a more professional and sleek look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During our session with Graham and Emily from Virgin Wines, they liked our ideas, particularly the video element I created with After Effects. They suggested making it more prominent, possibly at the top of the page. They also appreciated our streamlined checkout process, which we simplified to just two steps, making it easier to navigate and reducing unnecessary information and images. This change could potentially decrease user drop-off rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
