Blythe’s lecture into his personal design background from the start of education at Norwich Uni (then NSAD) and his progression into his industry and the foundation of his own studio was a genuine and entertaining insight into the design world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following his graduation from Norwich School of Art and Design in 2008, Blythe took placements in renowned agencies such as Pentagram, Turner Duckworth and Pearlfisher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blythe’s work allowed me to reflect on my design from a new viewpoint, particularly in learning about what makes brands feel premium and modern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being a UX student, I took care to note the ways in which Blythe brings his designs to the digital canvas, particularly mobile. I considered his text composition, sizing and hierarchical design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blythe’s work on ‘The Pea!’, a diabetes-beating snack reminded me of how useful a fresh and modern brand can be in communicating an idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Blythe’s talk, I took away some key points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conclusions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Develop a thick skin to ideas. Don’t be afraid to let them go.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I’m reminded that ideas won’t always be perfect, and iteration, reflection and thorough process will allow me to produce the best work I can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look for placements outside of the obvious <\/em>selections.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

With placements on my mind, I take this advice and remember I have the chance to use placement work as an opportunity to widen my specialty and explore new areas of design I havent’t touched on before or don’t focus on as much as I’d like to. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
